Otago Metro got its name on the Triangular Shield for the first time since 2014 with another successful weekend of squash and fun. A big 'thank you' from all players around the three areas to David Small and the Omakau Squash Club for hosting the event in the beautiful Central Otago. First up tie was between Central Otago and Otago Metro played on Friday night with the Metro women getting their team off to a great start helping to take out the tie 6 matches to 4. Saturday morning, Metro was back on the court playing Midlands and Saturday afternoon was the final tie between Midlands and hosts Central Otago. The prize-giving was held in the evening over a beautiful meal at the historic Chatto Creek Tavern.

Teams are made up of 10 players - 1 male and 1 female in all of the following grades - B,C,D,E,E2/F. This year it is to be hosted by Central Otago at the Omakau Squash Club with the first up tie between Otago Metro & Central Otago starting at 7.00 pm tonight. Midlands play Otago at 10.00 am Saturday morning, with the final tie between Midlands and Central Otago at 2.00 pm Saturday afternoon. The Triangular 'log of wood' is up for grabs. Manager: Jason Wereta (Otago) Well done and congratulations to the 2022 Otago Junior Girl's Team for their efforts at the 2022 National Junior Individuals & Teams which concludes today in Wellington. The team make-up of Rod Bannister (Coach/Manager), Grace Brenssell (Cromwell), Diana Galloway (Hutt City), Aria Bannister (Otago), Hollie Thomas & Martha Toghill (Otago University). The individuals section of the tournament preceded the teams events with a huge congratulations to Aria Bannister (Otago) in winning the NZ Under 15 title from Grace Spencer (BOP).
