![]() The Otago University Squash Club has successfully negotiated with the Otago University having recently been advised that they can continue to use the courts until the end of September 2021. The University supports the ongoing use of the courts for the benefit of staff, students and the wider community until the site's development later in 2021. Obviously safety for users comes with this decision but also allows the students further time to confirm their future plans.
![]() The Men's 'B' Grade Eliminations was hosted by Pirates on Saturday and contested between Alexandra, Otago & Pirates. Unfortunately injuries played a part in team selection in the 2nd & 3rd rounds - we wish those players a speedy recovery. First up, Otago won a very close competitive tie over Pirates 3 - 2 in round one; Pirates took out out round 2 with a 4 - 1 result over Alexandra with Otago taking the title with a 4 - 1 margin over Alexandra. ![]() Men's 'C' grade which is usually the most popular and supported grade only had two entrants, Pirates & Alexandra. Another tight competition coming down to the 5th match to get a result with Pirates the victors winning 3 - 2 matches. ![]() The Otago Squash Club Women's 'E' Grade Team managed by Ange Button travelled to Cromwell to contest the 'E' Grade Elimination against Cromwell's 'A' & 'B' Teams. Cromwell 'A' were too strong for their 'B' team taking out round one by 4 matches to 1; Otago won round 2 in a close 3 - 2 battle over Cromwell 'B' and then finished off the day by coming out on top of Cromwell 'A' by the same result. Congratulation to all winners. A big thank you to all participants especially travelling teams. Thank you also goes to Pirates & Cromwell Squash Clubs for hosting the events. Pirates Men's 'D' and Alexandra Men's 'E' Grade Teams by being the only entrants won the right to compete at their respective Nationals Tournaments.
